Fall Concert 
Two major works highlight
Cantate
Carlisle
fall concerts: Francis Poulenc’s
most popular work,Gloria, and
Ralph Vaughan Williams’s wonderful settings
of
George Herbert texts for baritone soloist and
choir: Five Mystical
Songs.
§ Several shorter works will round out the fall
program, including anthems by
celebrated British composer William Mathias and hymn settings and sacred
pieces.

Free December performance
at
First Evangelical Lutheran Church December 11th at
3:00pm
Cantate Carlisle will add their voices to the free December concert
of the
CentralPennsylvania Symphony under the baton of conductor Cheung Choa.
Fine ArtsAt
First will feature the two area ensembles on
Sunday,
December 11th at 3pm. The
lovely First Evangelical Lutheran
Church sanctuary
will provide a reverent setting
for the performance of Mack Wilberg's four
carols for choir
and orchestra. As Associate Music Director of the Mormon
Tabernacle Choir,
Dr.
Wilberg is unequalled
in composing festive

Spring Concert 
The Carlisle Theatre stage will showcase the spring performances of
Cantate Carlisle
and young persons' ensemble Cantate Cum Spiritum! What more appropriate
place
could there be for a concert featuring Choral Music for the
Stage. Audiences can look
forward to accessible and entertaining opera choruses of Verdi, Wagner,
Tchaikovsky,
Bizet and Humperdinck. Pursuing a lighter vein, the singers will perform
several numbers
from Gillbert and Sullivan Operettas
The Pirates of Penzance, Trial By Jury, and The
Gondoliers. Broadway will be equally represented with
Creative arrangements of show
tunes old and new. Some shows represented include:
Oliver!, Peter Pan, Bye Bye Birdie,
Porgy and Bess, Anything Goes,
Gypsy, Les Mis, and Wicked. The ensembles will be
accompanied by Arthur Thompson on Piano, Mark Alexander-Gray on trap set, and
Allen Roth on Bass. (Click
