Crossing Borders at Christmas:
Seasonal Music of our Canadian and Mexican Neighbors

  Featuring the festive sounds of choir and orchestra in the vibrant Magnificat set by Imant Raminsh and the playful,
   yet delicate folk carols of Conrad Susa's Carols and Lullabies, Christmas in the Southwest for choir with harp, guitar,
   and percussion. In addition, familiar carols, artfully set, are sure to capture the soulful spirit of Christmas that can be so elusive in today's hectic world.

   A colorful palette of characters, emotions, times, and places are brought to life by masterful composers in these
   classic groupings of songs.

   * Samuel Barber transports us to Ireland to encounter three characters in his Reincarnations
   * Johannes Brahms's final set of secular a cappella pieces, Fünf Gesange, Op. 104 mirror his own poignant late life
      reflections
   * Maurice Ravel captures European life during WWI in his Trois Chansons
   * Ian Fleming creatively arranged familiar spirituals in his Three About Jesus
   * Three Mountain Tunes set by Utah composer Mack Wilberg are sure to leave the audience tapping their toes and
      slapping their knees!
